The Information Futures Summit is a new event format for IFLA, focused on bringing the energy, expertise and rich diversity of our field together to find solutions to the information challenges facing us today and in the coming years.
You will have the opportunity to join the discussion with professionals and thought leaders from around the world about the place and role of information in the future we want, and what this means for libraries.
A dynamic programme of inspiring keynote speakers (from inside and outside our field) will be complemented by open discussions, unconference sessions and ideas exchanges. It will allow participants maximum opportunity to engage with each other and to share their own experiences and insights.
With a strong focus on outputs, this will be an event designed to give everyone ideas that they can use in their own work, as well as to shape our Federation as we head towards IFLA’s centenary in 2027.
Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre
Located in the heart of South Bank, Brisbane’s arts and cultural precinct, the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre is surrounded by lush parklands, countless dining options, vibrant entertainment venues, and cultural institutions including the State Library of Queensland and the Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art. Its central location ensures easy access to all areas of the city and beyond – making it an ideal choice for our summit.
Stronger Together
With its contemporary and distinctive skyline and centred around a winding river as featured in our Summit logo, Brisbane boasts a diverse and dynamic culture. The population of Brisbane reflects the city’s reputation as a welcoming and inclusive community, promoting a truly integrative society where every narrative matters and the opportunity for participation is significant.
Similarly, IFLA boasts over 1700 members from 147 different countries, each offering unique perspectives that better empower the library field. Participating in the IFLA Information Futures Summit in Brisbane provides you with the unique opportunity to discover how collaboration and connection can make the library field stronger.
